DERMATOLOGIC EVALUATION A dermatologic evaluation is recommended to ensure proper diagnosis of the port-wine stain, determine the child's risk of SWS based on the distribution of the port-wine stain and to discuss treatment options and approaches. The Pediatric Dermatology and Cutaneous Laser Clinic participates in the Johns Hopkins/Kennedy Krieger Institute Sturge-Weber syndrome Center and has extensive experience in the laser treatment of port-wine stains.
