This class is designed for the newly diagnosed individual and their loved ones. The class provides ample information about Parkinson's Disease and available resources. Classes are held at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center.

The comprehensive management of individuals with Parkinson's involves not only the pharmacological and surgical management, but also the appropriate use of allied health professionals, assistive technologies, educational and support resources along the chronic illness continuum. This program is designed to enhance your knowledge of successful disease management utilitzing these approaches. During the program you will learn about the following:

  • Motor Fluctuations and Their Management
  • Non-Motor Symptoms and Their Management
  • Speech Therapy Approaches
  • Coping Skills
  • Cognitive Symptoms of Parkinson's
  • Deep Brain Stimulatin Surgery

    Parkinson's Caregiver Support Group
    Anyone caring for someone with Parkinson's Disease is welcome to attend. The group meets from 10:00 to 11:30am monthly at Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station, 10753 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 212093.
