Matthias Ringkamp, MD, PhD
Dr. Matthis Ringkamp is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and has been a faculty member since January, 1998. His research activities focus on the peripheral neuronal mechanisms of pain. Dr. Ringkamp is especially interested in these areas:
1.The receptive and conductive properties of nociceptive nerve fibers in normal states.
2. The peripheral mechanisms of neuropathic pain, and the role that different classes of nerve fibers play in its development and maintenance.
3. The development of new strategies for the treatment of neuropathic pain.
